Software Developer
Primary Responsibility
- Develop, deploy and maintain secure, scalable asp.net web apps with excellent user experience, ensuring they are optimized for speed, scalability and security.
- Collaborate with DBA & UI team members, various department heads & employees amongst the HSIG business units to design, develop and implement new features and functionality.
- Will be responsible for day to day support tasks involving current production applications that our business units use on a daily basis.
- Approximately 80-20 spilt between front-end and back-end development.
- Continuously research and learn new technologies and development techniques to improve app development and deployment.
- Maintain and update documentation for all code and apps including requirements, design documents and user manuals.
- Communicate effectively within your team as well as within the organization on application issues, projects, questions & concerns.
- Must be willing to complete yearly continuing education
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday, during normal business hours.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 5 years of full stack software development experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Troubleshoot easy to moderately difficult select/update/insert SQL queries, stored procs & views.
- Proficient with VB.net, ASP.net, C#, Entity Framework.
- Proficient with DevOps and GitHub.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office apps, Windows 10, Edge, Chrome.
- Proficient in IIS & MS SQL Mgmt Studio.
- Basic understanding of networking, Windows Server 2012 , event logs, task scheduler, RDP, Certificates.
- Experience with Javascript, Ajax, JSON.
- Experience with Razor & Blazor a plus.
- Experience with Telerik, Tableau, PDF creation controls.
- Experience in insurance, claims or finance industries.
